Block Appointment Slots & Set Advance Booking Hours

What is it & why you need it


You can create calendars with available time slots on any day of the week and allow clients to book appointments directly from your site. Clients can also cancel or reschedule their bookings whenever needed.


Now, the new feature lets you block specific time slots if you’re unavailable, even if those slots were originally open. Blocked slots are hidden from your site’s calendar, so clients won’t be able to book them.


This will help to manage last-minute changes without disrupting your entire schedule. Besides, it will reduce confusion and failed bookings as clients will only see available slots.



How it works

You can exclude specific time slots when creating or editing an appointment on your EzyCourse dashboard. 


After you select time slots for a specific day, you can open the exclude or block calendar and choose the slots you wish to block. The block calendar will appear as a popup. You can simply select a specific date and then block specific slots on that day.


Based on the dates and slots you’ve blocked, users can book only the remaining available slots on the calendar. The same thing happens in the case of rescheduling as well.


And that’s not all! Along with setting cancellation/reschedule window time, you can now set a specific cutoff time for users before they are allowed to book an appointment slot.



How to get started using it

While setting the appointment calendar slots, notice the new Exclude specific dates & slots option beside each weekday. This appears after you select at least one time slot for the day.

Enabling the Exclude specific dates & slots option will open a calendar popup, where only the selected appointment dates can be used to block and hide the specific slots.

You can block or exclude multiple time slots from a single date or even multiple dates. Once done, click the Save Changes button.

On the "Save Your Weekly Hours" section, you can view the total blocked dates & sessions, and even edit the slot exclusions.

Now, when any user proceeds to book an appointment, the excluded date with time slots won’t be shown on your site’s appointment calendar and therefore remain blocked for them.

Similarly, when users try to Reschedule their appointment slots from the student dashboard, the blocked date and slots will be hidden as well.

To enable advanced hours for booking slots, simply check the Allow cancellation/rescheduling/Booking slots option. Set the minimum number of hours for users to meet for booking slots before the appointment time starts. For example, putting 2 hours here means that users must book an appointment slot 2 hours before the start of the appointment. After that, slots will not remain open for booking.
