What is it & why you need it
The Smart Top Banner is a fully customizable announcement and promotional bar that you can display at the top of any page on your website. It will help you grab customer attention instantly whether you're running a limited-time sale, promoting a new course, sharing an important update, or adding a live countdown timer.
With complete control over design, colors, styling, and placement, you can create beautiful banners that match your brand perfectly. Even better, you can choose exactly which pages the banner appears on, giving you the power to target the right message to the right audience.
How to get started using it
You can create top banners directly from your EzyCourse admin dashboard. To create one, go to Website Builder -> Banners.
Click the Create Banner button on the top right corner of the screen.
On the popup, you can customize everything from colors, styles, texts, CTAs, etc. Let’s go over all these options.
First, you can give a banner name. This will help you to identify the banner when you are setting it for a page.
The next two options are for setting the background color of the banner and also setting a background image. Adding an image is optional. For background color, you have the convenience of putting a hex code or choosing an RGB value.
[Note: Notice that you can preview the changes live as you customize the banner.]
For the text content, you can write exactly what you wish to show. And then customize the text color, size (in px or rem), and font weight.
Enable the Call-to-Action (CTA) option to set a button on the banner. You can then edit the button text.
You can choose the link type i.e. where the button should take the user. It could be any of your website pages, external link, any specific product checkout page, a page section, or even a popup/modal page on your website.
Tick the checkbox to open the link in a new tab.
You can set the background color and text color of the CTA button to make it more “clickable“ if you like.
For further styling, there’s different border styling options you can utilize. Ensure you first set a Border Width value to see the border color preview.
For the CTA, you can also choose to change the color when being hovered with the cursor.
Yes, there’s also an option to add a countdown timer to your top banner! Just enable the Timer toggle and select the date-time when the offer or promotion will end. There’s options to customize timer text color, show label text, etc.
Another important option is you have the luxury of choosing the action when the timer hits zero. You can utilize these options for different purposes. For example, you can use the “Replace text“ option and inform the customers about the next offers to come: “Missed Black Friday Deals? Wait for our Mega Anniversary Sale!“.
Finally, you can enable a close button for the convenience of your customers.
Click the Create button to complete.
You can edit or even clone any existing banner anytime.
With a banner created, you can set it on any page you like. To do that, navigate to Website Builder -> Pages -> click the three dots on the page you want to add the banner to and select the Edit Page Settings option.
[Note: You can only set the banner on pages built with Builder 2.0 for now.]
From here, just choose the banner from the dropdown option and click the Save button to set it.
Now, it will show on the page and your customers will be able to view the banner on the live page.
